Arturo and Ana of Gusto Bread

On this episode of The Sourdough Podcast, Arturo and Ana of Gusto Bread join me to share their sourdough journey - from the wood-fired oven that started it all, to their plans to open a brick and mortar bakery this year in their home of Long Beach, California. They tell us about the people and places that inspired them along the way and share their experiences and advice for growing a successful cottage bakery.

My guests are Arturo Enciso and Ana Salatino owners of Gusto Bread in Long Beach, California. Gusto Bread is a cottage bakery which Arturo and Ana operate from their home, opening their doors to the public once a week while also selling at farmer’s markets and to several local establishments. Arturo, a self taught baker of just over 5 years and Ana a self-taught graphic and web designer, together have grown Gusto over the last few years and have recently set their sights on opening a brick and mortar bakery in Long Beach. And it’s my privilege to have them on the podcast to share their story.

My partner, Ana, and I set up Gusto Bread out of our living room in 2017. In these two short years, our community has grown so much that we're ready to move operations out of our house and into a bigger space.
